Just before Christmas we received Ubisoft’s Just Dance Kids for the Wii. My two love dancing along to Just Dance with me so they were pleased to have a Just Dance just for them.
There are over 40 songs to choose from, including children’s songs like Hokey Cokey and Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. There are pop songs like Bruno Mars’ Just The Way You Are and movie songs like Something That I Want from Tangled. Little S and Miss B really like Frere Jacques which they can dance and sing along to in Spanish, French and German too.
There are different modes to choose from, like Team High Score, Freeze and Shake (so funny to watch!) and Balloon Pop (where you have to dance until a balloon inflates and pops). You can just get on and dance if you like, which is what my children prefer to do, choosing from your own or set playlists or non-stop shuffle.
Parents have their own section too, where you can keep an eye on what your child has been playing and how long for. It also gives you information about the game and gives you other options like turning off the lyrics. I like to join in with the children to see what they’re doing so I haven’t used this option much, but I can imagine it would come in handy when your kids think it’s not cool to dance with their parents any more!
The thing I love about this sort of game is that the children can pick it up and play it. It’s not complicated for them and the dances are easy to follow. It gets them up and moving around rather than sitting and playing, which is why we love this type of game so much. Just Dance Kids is suitable for ages 3 and up and is great for family time together. That’s just as long as I don’t win too much otherwise I get in trouble!
Just Dance Kids is on Amazon for £14.99 at the moment which is a bargain. I’d highly recommend adding it to your Wii game collection.
